She is the creator and director-general of Feminist Frequency an educational not-for-profit website that explores representations of women within popular stories of culture. Alongside working to bring awareness to sexual harassment and attacks on women, as well as other minorities, she is committed to breaking down stereotypes that are prevalent in popular culture. She had a plan to start a web-based series on gender-based representations in video games and was the subject of a harassment online campaign. The attack did not stop her, rather it strengthened her resolve as an activist for women in media. She has won numerous awards to recognize her notable contributions to the field of feminism.
